Farmers Market 2010

The first Philip Farmers Market of 2010 will start on July 17th. The market will open at 9:00 and end at 11:30 or 12:00. With the changes in the law concerning shelf stable breads, jams, jellies, and pickles I think we will be able to have a great market this year! The market will again be held at the Fire Hall Park. I have attached the file for the rules concerning jellies and bread. I will post more information at a later date.

Through Rain!

We did have the market today even though it was raining on and off. Five vendors decided to make the best out of the situation and go ahead with the market! I left it up to the vendors to decide. We are thinking about selecting an alternative spot for the market if we have inclement weather. Although most of us agree that a farmers market should be outside whenever it is possible. I will update the blog and the paper with this alternate spot if we decide to have one.

Thank you to the people who came out and supported the market today! I will update the blog with vendor information for next week sometime this week.

Update on this week’s market!

We are expecting two new vendors this week! Ralph and Carol Kroetch will be bringing art work  and crocheted items  (towels and potholders). Marcy (Radway) Morrison is planning to bring the Radway Family Cookbook.

Terry will not be offering honey this week, but she will be back next week.

Country Goods will be featuring potholders and kitchen hand towels out of material. They will also have candles and wheat bundles.

Alisha McQuirk brings a nice assortment of handcrafted jewelry weekly.

Terks Trinkets will have bookmarks, nice door hangers, and gift bags.

Traci’s booth offers herbs, produce, and crafts.

Garden Folly will offer craft items and midsummer produce.

De’s Produce (that’s me) will be bringing – beets, a few cucumbers, green beans, summer squash, potatoes, peppers, and carrots.

Next week maybe we will have *corn* and *tomatoes*.

See you at the market!

Vendors Needed!

Are you in the Philip area and interested in participating in the Farmers Market this year? We are looking for vendors to participate in the market this year! Some ideas for the market include -  flowers, homemade soap,  jewelry, herbs, garden produce,  craft items, hand painted items,  and anything else that is locally produced or made.

I have ask to move  the market to Saturday mornings and again it will be held at the Fire Hall Park. We hope to start the market the middle of July.  As the date gets closer I will  update the blog with the actual date and time of the market.

SEE YOU AT THE MARKET!
